What Parent's Are Saying About YMCA Camp Roger
"I can not say anything bad about Camp Rogers. They had a blast! A month and a half later they are still telling camp stories and comparing experiences. I thought that the thrill would diminish but I have not seen that yet. "
"I believes that my children's camp experience help them build self confidence and also helped make them so much more aware of the people around them, they were able to meet people outside of their 'safety net' of friends and learn that it is okay that people are different. "
"My youngest son learned that any job at home is able to be done and isn't as bad as cleaning out the stalls. My oldest son that attended the LIT program has gained a lot of self confidence and leadership skills. Over all they learned to work with others, get along in a group and look out and care for others. Responsibility was a big thing for all the kids. "
"Thanks for the well organized, challenging and caring week provided to our daughter. I cannot remember her being more resistant to any activity in her life, but she came away convinced. Your staff won her over. She had a wonderful week at Camp Roger. After she got off the bus she did not stop talking until she collapsed in bed that night. Congratulations on a job well done. She is thinking about being a counselor (or CIT) someday. She was very impressed with the care, kindness, and leadership shown by the many counselors she met while at the camp."
"Doing fun things does not come without responsibilities. To have a clean and safe camp chores must be done. She developed a great deal of self-confidence in being away from home, working with the other kids, by performing chores, and through the challenging activities. "
"Every year they pack 1 week before they leave and they return home with tails of all the friends they made and the new and exciting things they did and learned."
