Pioneers (ages 7-9)
Traditional Camp at YMCA Camp Roger provides an opportunity for campers to participate in the wide range of activities offered at Camp Roger. Traditional campers will spend their week with 6-10 campers in a cabin, allowing them to grow through new friendships and experiences each year. Two or more counselors supervise a cabin and are instrumental in ensuring a safe, instructive, and FUN camp experience. Activities offered during traditional camp each year include fishing, horseback riding, arts and crafts, ropes course, swimming, archery, mountain biking, Sports and Games and so much more.
For the youngest campers we offer an opportunity to become familiar with what over night camping is all about. Pioneer campers will experience ALL the activities that Camp Roger has to offer; These campers will have plenty of structure, supervision, and support from qualified counselors as they navigate through a week of new experiences and learning. From fishing, horseback riding, arts and crafts, archery, campfires, carnivals, games and so much
more campers will gain new skills, make new friends, and experience the magic of overnight camping.
*New for 2008!, we will be providing two mini camp sessions for our Pioneers. Campers will have the option to attend from Sunday through Wednesday or Wednesday through Saturday. Pioneers will still have the opportunity to experience everything that Camp Roger has to offer, with fewer nights away from home.
